This past weekend we celebrated one of our favorite weekends – the St. Louis Pet Expo at the St. Charles Convention Center, a giant celebration of all things pets. It’s two entire days devoted to our pets, and Gateway Pet Guardians hosts a booth every year. Our amazing volunteers coordinate and work our booth, where we hand out goodies, share our mission with visitors, and talk about our amazing adoptable dogs. This year, eight volunteers made this event possible. Below are just a few snapshots of our volunteers in action!
Not only is the Expo an amazing opportunity to spread the word about GPG, but it’s also a great opportunity to connect with the pet-loving community. As pet parents walk through the event, we enjoy interacting with their furry loved ones, especially when we are able to reconnect with GPG alumni! Alums Dagny and Wilbur stopped by our booth to say hello, to name just a few of the GPG family represented at the Expo.
We also got a visit from our friends at Vatterott’s Vet Tech Program! Our partnership with Vatterott enables us to save more lives. They provide vet care and socialization to animals as they wait for foster homes to open up, it’s a win-win for both parties! We loved seeing them at the Expo, thank you for stopping by our booth!
And finally, we added a new twist this year to our booth. Visitors were invited to make a donation to enter a raffle drawing for a gift basket, with proceeds benefiting the rescue pups. We are excited to announce the winner of the gift basket… Donna Lucy! We will be in touch with you soon to make sure you receive your winnings!
