Happy Tails Update: Maggie (formerly Christina Aguilera)

I met this little beauty at my work’s puppy de-stress day. Our family had a sleepover with her two weeks later and knew that she was meant to be part of our pack. She’s quite a character and holds her own with our 80lb chocolate lab mix. She’s so energetic that the only time I can get a really good picture of her is when she’s sleeping. LOL. We are so thankful for Brian and GPG!

Happy Tails Update – Betty Lou

My husband and I adopted Ripley (formerly Betty Lou) from Gateway in Jan 2016. She came home the same day that we bought our first house. She’s brought nothing but joy and love into our lives, and instantly made our house feel like home. Most pictures I have of her are when she’s sleeping, as she’s a pretty big handful when she’s awake! Id love to see how her bros & sisters are doing (t…

An Unexpected Turn: Art, Jen and Krewe’s Story

Six months ago, Art and Jen Knepper found themselves at the Gateway Pet Guardians Emergency Shelter. Eager and excited to make a difference in the lives of homeless animals, they submitted their applications and started doing regular shifts. They fell in love with each dog they encountered, and loved spending time with them. Saddened by the fact that many of the dogs were longer-term residents at…

The Road to Recovery: Nanette and Lennon’s Story

Just a few short months ago, Lennon found himself at Animal Control. As he peered around the room, several other dogs looked back anxiously, waiting to find out what would happen next. A total of eight dogs awaited their fate that day. But Lennon’s whole world was about to change, as well as that of each of his friends’. The fosters at Gateway Pet Guardians rallied together to save the lives…

Puppy Naming Raffle!

Some of you may have seen the post about our mama dog, Zelle who is being a surrogate wet nurse for six puppies that were surrendered to us.  The puppies are mother-less and needed another mama.  Zelle’s puppies had just left her for their foster homes and she beautifully took to the puppies as if they were her own.  Those puppies are now a week old and we are in need of names for the precious…

The Heart of a Lion: Teresa and Keaton’s Story

The puppies we rescue often have a rough start at life. Keaton’s story isn’t any different. We met her at animal control, where she broke with parvo, a highly contagious viral illness that affects puppies between 6 weeks and 6 months of age. She needed medical help immediately, so we pulled her and sent her straight to the vet. Keaton spent her first week in rescue fighting for her life at…
