We hope everyone and their pets had a wonderful and safe Fourth of July weekend! Our shelter dogs weren’t a fan of the fireworks but they enjoyed the extra attention that they got this weekend. Our Monday Featured Dog this week is the one and only Boss! Boss is a young Labrador Retriever/Chow Chow mix and he is such a sweet boy! He is already neutered and up-to-date with his shots.
Boss is currently residing at the shelter, but he can’t wait to find his furever home!
Boss can be a little shy when in new environments, but he is quite playful when he opens up. He LOVES human companions and he likes to show his love by leaning against them. He’ll love you even more if you give him a hug or a belly rub. Boss is not shy about receiving massages either! Don’t worry though, he’ll return the favor with lots of doggy kisses! Boss will make a great companion, because he bonds with people quickly. He has been around other dogs during doggy training and did not exhibit any aggressive behavior.
Boss has been working on learning commands and he seems to be catching on quickly. So far, he has mastered “sit” and will continue to learn more! Boss does okay on a leash and is a great walker once he gets in the groove. He might need some help getting into a car, but he does well with car rides once he’s in. Overall, Boss is a playful boy, but is not hyper activity. He would do well with a moderate amount of activities.
