Adoptable Dog in St. Louis: Meet Omaha!

This Monday we are featuring our favorite sweetheart, Omaha, who just turned two last month! He’s a beautiful medium-sized American Pit Bull Terrier Mix and he has the most stunning eyes! He was rescued a year ago running down Route 15 with a chain around his neck.

Omaha is neutered, current on his shots, and microchipped. He’s currently residing at the shelter and works diligently on keeping our staff company throughout the day. As much as we love having this sweet fella around, we hope Omaha finds his special foster or furever home soon!

Omaha is not shy at all and will run up to everyone for hugs and kisses. He is very affectionate and gentle. He loves cuddling and snuggling with his favorite people. He loves everyone but seems to have a fondness for our male staff. He is such a happy dog and we are completely smitten by him! He’s great with kids and other dogs as well! However, we don’t think Omaha is a fan of cats.

Omaha loves to play fetch. It is preferred that his furever home has a high fence because he can be climber. He just loves being outside and enjoys going on walks. He is very well behaved on the leash. He would love to visit the dog park to socialize and play with other dogs as well.

This boy is already house and kennel-trained. Omaha is deaf and has some problems with his vision, but that doesn’t slow him down or damper his spirit! He is in need of a furever home that is willing to learn to communicate with him through sign language or commands. We have a GPG trainer working with him and he’s demonstrated that he’s a smart boy. He’s already learned the American Sign Language signs for sit, stay, stop, and more! It helps that he loves positive attention and treats (especially carrots, bananas, and peanut butter).
