Help us save some Dogs!
Frank & Mr. Tux……Frank has been rescued and is probably waiting to find his forever home. Mr. Tux hasn’t been on the scene lately. So we don’t know if he will ever show up again. But in the event that he does, any takers?? The summer has been just brutal and here are some kids that need to be rescued & some that need forever homes. Please share! We are getting short on funds and some of these kids need some major work. When we see dogs like Daiya (that had to have her leg amputated), Niles (who was nearly dead from a fight on the street), or Patches (puppy who had mange so badly that it could have killed him!), we have to act & cover necessary vet bills. If a dog is in need, and we have a foster or a space, then we need to pull them. And if it is an emergency, we just have to pull them-and we know all of you are out there rooting for these kids. And we want to save more, but we really do need donations! Below are some of the kids that need to be pulled or need forever homes…..
Blondie. Blondie walks great on a leash & gets along with people & most other dogs. We can’t believe that she is still waiting for her forever parents!! Pj loves this girl, but there are also so many other kids Pj wants to save & if we get this beauty adopted then we can save another life. Blondie doesn’t even pull when seeing squirrels, other dogs, cars, or anything-when she is on her walks.
And a joyous & traumatic day (for me anyhow). Saving Horton. We had gotten word from a lovely gal at the Animal Control Adoption Center that Horton had been pulled. She had seen a picture awhile back, and when walking through the kennels, noticed the similarity. We are all so thankful that she notified us & we were able to go pull Horton. He was not at the “adoption” center part & timing was crucial. Here we are walking him out of Animal Control. The other dogs in the background broke my heart. I personally haven’t been to a “pound” since childhood, when my whole family went in to pick out a cat. I may have been 10, I don’t know. I started bawling & then I think my dad started and we both had to go to the car. My mom had to pick out a cat by herself. I don’t think I could go into those places on a regular basis and not be on anti-depressants or hit the bottle. It’s rough. When the kids are on the street, we know they are being fed. We can have plans to rescue them. They are still living. But the pound thing was tough. Yet so thrilled about Horton’s liberation.
And here is Horton at the vet, post rescue. He has turned out to be such a doll. Pj thought he would be great, as he hung out with so many different packs of dogs. He is the father to Savvy’s children. Basically, all of his friends got rescued and he was long overdue. Apparently he plays well with others & is friendly. He is in a foster home right now & we would love to find him his forever parents. This guy deserves to be spoiled, big time.
Ferris & Pj. WOW. Ferris got a zillion hits when David posted his original photos, and yet he still hasn’t found his home! He had heartworm, but is all through that treatment & good as new. Just an adorable guy & so full of love. He is a real snugglebug.
Blondie, Shiloh, Ferris. You already know how wonderful Blondie is. Shiloh is great too. A bit younger & in a foster home now, waiting!! And darling Ferris again.
These puppies may have a home…..we are always investigating the situation because sometimes it lacks clarity. However, these are kids that Pj has been feeding in East St. Louis. One of the puppies now looks like his skin is getting a little bad.
These are Daiya’s (the tripod) friends. Tony (Brindle) and Elsa. Nearly always together. Kind of a bummer because they have been travelling a bit more and the other day Tony was all the way down on State Street. Which is kind of busy. Would be lovely to find fosters for these buds!
Dinah. For years Dinah has weathered the streets. It is so past her turn…..but now she is elusive. Pj really wants to save her. But the funds are getting so low in the account, and Dinah will need some fixing up. Please donate if you can!
And I believe this to be Kersee. She was just rescued & obviously likes people. What a doll. She hung out in Washington Park, right by the Ms. Kitty’s lot. I call all these dogs “The Strip” dogs because there are 2 strip clubs there, right next to the “Repent for your Sins” sign, a mountain of abandoned homes, a cheap hotel, and dozens of dogs.
Dirk & his girl. Dirk adores Pj. I know, “his girl” again. Pj insists she has trouble with girl’s names, and that is why they are always “somebody’s” girl. It’s been a few days since Pj has seen these kids, but hopefully they show up again.
