The Gateway Pet Guardians Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) Program is a humane approach to controlling the homeless cat population in the Metro East. It specifically targets stray, often feral community cats—cats that otherwise could not be adopted out into a family home. Through the program, cats are humanely trapped and taken to a veterinarian to be spayed/neutered and vaccinated. After recovery, the cats are returned to their home—their colony—outdoors. The cats continue to live outdoors, with a resident caretaker feeding and caring for them.

Every weekend, we meet more residents in need of our services. We currently have a waiting list of over 50 community cats and kittens needing to be fixed in the Metro East. Our goal is to raise enough money to TNR one colony in October, consisting of over 20 community cats! Below is the estimated cost for us to help a Metro East resident care for this colony.

The total cost to fix a colony of 20 cats is about $610. To fix a single cat, it costs approximately $30.50. Whether you are able to sponsor an entire colony or a single cat–every little bit helps!
