Wednesday’s Foster Dog is a sweet girl named Jubilee! She’s a pretty Labrador Retriever Mix who is approximately 1 year & 2 weeks old. She has the sweetest face with the kindest eyes that make you want to give her a big hug! Jubilee loves her Foster Family, they spend a lot of time with her and their two dogs have become her best buddies. She’s been working hard and preparing to start her life as part of a forever family and she’s ready for them to find her!
If you follow our Facebook page, you might remember Jubilee from the abandoned garage she lived in with her sister PJ, who was rescued a few weeks after Jubilee & is in a Foster Home, and her brother Pokey, who is being stubborn about being rescued. They lived a pretty hard life and Jubilee is shy around men but she’s slowly warming up to them. It took her a little while to warm up to her Foster Dad but now she follows him around the house!
Jubilee is house trained and crate trained and isn’t a fan of the crate but she tolerates it with the help of a yummy rawhide chip to take in there with her. She gets along great with dogs, especially the two in her foster home, and she doesn’t pay attention to cats. She likes kids and behaves nicely around them, recently giving kisses to a 1 & 1/2 year old and being gentle with her. And, she’s also kind to the bunnies her Foster Family has!
She’s an affectionate girl who loves to snuggle and give kisses to her favorite people. She’s very soft & cuddly and enjoys sleeping in bed with her Foster Dad and Twiggy, a former GPG dog he adopted. She loves being with her Foster Dad’s Mom, who likes to snuggle with this pretty girl on the couch.
Jubilee loves playing and hanging out with Twiggy and Andi, another adopted GPG dog in the house. The two older dogs have welcomed her into their home, are teaching her how to have fun and they spend a lot of time snuggled up on the couch together.
This sweet girl has even had some play dates with another GPG dog her Foster Dad fostered, Morticia, and she has a lot of fun with all the dogs, running around the yard and playing chase. It’s so nice to see her having fun and she wears a pink hoodie outside so she always looks so pretty!
Jubilee is a smart gal who’s working on learning how to sit and it helps that she’s food-motivated. She likes treats that are meaty, such as hotdogs & salami, so training will hopefully be pretty fun for all involved! She’s working on leash training and doing well and she doesn’t do well on car rides as they make her nauseous & she drools but somehow she still seems to enjoy the ride.
She attended an adoption event recently, was well-behaved and had a nice time. She hung out with her Foster Dad and was a good girl when people pet her. She even posed nicely for some of the photos on this page.
Jubilee still gets a little nervous and tends to run & hide when someone yells so we think it’d be best for her to go to a calm home without children or with children over 10 years old. She would be happiest in a home that has a dog so she can have a companion, playmate and mentor. Jubilee hopes her forever family will be the patient with her as she warms up to men and hopes they understand that it will take a little time for her to be fully comfortable but it will happen! And, she’s totally worth the wait!
