Wednesday’s Featured Foster Dog is Woody! He’s a friendly Hound/Beagle Mix who is approximately 8 & 1/2 months old. He likes everyone he meets and loves giving them kisses!
This handsome guy really likes his Foster Family, they spend a lot of time with him, take him places and spend quality snuggle time together. Yet, he knows there’s a forever person or family out there who are meant for him and he’s ready to be with them!
Woody’s neutered, current on his shots, microchipped & on heartworm preventative and flea & tick protection. He’s house trained & crate trained but isn’t a fan of the crate. He gets along great with dogs, cats, kitties & children and would love to find a forever home that already has a dog so he can have a companion, playmate and mentor.
He’s a very sweet boy who is affectionate with both people and pets. Woody enjoys snuggling his Foster Parents in their bed at night, and after his morning potty break he likes to come back to bed for more snuggles.
Woody has a nice energy, he’s playful but mellow & laid-back. Once he gets an hour of exercise or playtime, he’s ready to curl up on the couch with the kitty and take a nap.
When he’s feeling playful, Woody will play with any toy and even uses his bones & chewies as toys. He loves playing with his Foster Family’s dog, they wrestle around and tug on each others ears & neck. He’s always thrilled when his foster parents join in and wrestle with them! It’s created a closer bond between them and he listens better since they’ve started physically interacting with him and not just playing catch.
He has a blast being chased around with a toy in his mouth and he’ll chase whoever has his toy, whether it’s his foster parents or their dog. He also has a lot of fun playing with their kitten, wrestling around and being silly and you can’t help but laugh as you watch them play!
Woody likes to relax with rib bones or dental chews that his foster mom gets from her work, Pets In The City. This friendly guy goes to work with her at least once a week and is very well-behaved. He greets people & their dogs as they enter the store and never tries to run out the door. And, although he likes cats, the two store cats aren’t playful so he’s a good boy and leaves them alone.
Woody enjoys being outside, loves running on trails off-leash and walks great on a leash. He’d be happiest in a home with a big back yard, or one that has land, as he loves to explore and roam around.
This sweet guy likes going for car rides and enjoys poking his head out the window, especially when it’s snowing! When the windows are up, he likes to take a nap or relax with a toy or treat.
If you’re looking for a dog to take places with you, Woody is the dog for you! His foster parents take him & their dog with them everywhere. He likes going with them for drinks or dinner in Soulard and he loves greeting people along the way.
He knows how to sit & stay, knows off means get down from the furniture and will come when called. His forever home should have an owner who has experience training dogs, is patient & stern when it comes to discipline and has the time to work with him. Watch the video of him showing off his skills!
