Thank You, Gateway Fans
Hey there GPG team,
Just wanted you all to know that I spent my day on Thursday bragging on all of our social media fans at the STL Social Good Conference. There were tons of nonprofits there who came to learn about social media and how to use it to build their organizations, and I was the first speaker.
I told them all how great you guys were, how you’d do anything you possibly could for us – but mostly, I told them that you aren’t just fans. You’re a part of our organization as much as our volunteers and fosters are, because even if you can’t make a donation, or foster a dog, or volunteer for community outreach, there’s always one thing that you can do and you do it well – you share. You share our stuff and that generates an awareness that might bring in more people who CAN do those tangible things, and that is a service that is just as valuable to us as anything else.
It’s because of that “can do” attitude that Gateway has grown as much as it has and as quickly as it as over the years. We couldn’t do what we do without you. So thank you for visiting our Facebook page every day. Thank you for following us on Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and Google+. Thank you for every single like and share.
This is not just a fundraiser for the dog park, it’s a chance for Gateway to get $3,000 in matching donations to go toward our Second Chance Fund. This fund is very important to Gateway. We CAN NOT rescue animals on the street with serious injuries without it.
So I’m asking all of you to step up to this challenge. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to donate $5 to Humphrey’s campaign. In turn, our matching donors will donate $10 to the Second Chance Fund. Then tell your friends to donate $5. It’s not much, but when a hundred people do it, it becomes a lot and we have 7,500 Facebook fans. Skip your $5 cup of Starbucks this morning and use that money for a good cause. I’ve already donated $30. What will you give to save the life of one of our street dogs that you see pictures of on our page each day? Let’s do some Social Good today.
